Our Philosophy

Hiring a law firm can be a costly enterprise. We understand that and the pressure that litigation places on our clients’ budgets. Wright Kim Douglas of Glendale, California was formed with the idea of providing clients with the best possible legal representation in a boutique environment. The firm always places its clients' desires and best interests above all else, excluding only its ethical obligations. We strive to leverage our substantial experience to provide clients with efficient, action oriented representation that meets or exceeds our clients' expectations in terms of both costs and results.

Why Should I Retain Wright Kim Douglas?

We strive to leverage our substantial  government and “big firm” experience, to provide clients with efficient, action oriented representation that meets or exceeds our clients' expectations in terms of both costs and results.

Experience.  With over one hundred years of collective experience litigating complex probate and trust, business, and real estate disputes, our attorneys have the training, education, and experience necessary to handle the most sophisticated matters.  We regularly represent clients at both the trial and appellate levels; in arbitrations and mediations; and before administrative bodies.  The firm also acts as co-counsel and local counsel with other firms, including out-of-state and foreign firms.  Our clients are able to take advantage of the training and experience our attorneys have gained through their work at reasonable attorney rates.

Wright Kim Douglas is pleased to announce that the firm has been honored by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers in its 2024 edition of “Best Law Firms” as one of the leading law firms in the areas of trust and estates and, commercial litigation.  The firm was recognized for its professional excellence and consistently impressive ratings from clients and peers.

Efficiency.  We deliver our services promptly, efficiently, and economically. Our clients can be assured of the personal attention of the principal attorneys in our firm.  With our diverse experience in litigation and non-litigation matters, we are able to provide services efficiently, ensuring that you will receive real value for your resources.

Effectiveness.  No firm can guarantee results, but we set the groundwork for success through aggressive case management and by obtaining a thorough understanding of our clients’ needs and objectives.  Our attorneys understand the need to provide our clients with a realistic assessment of the costs and risks associated with each matter.  We also are willing to tailor activity in a case based upon the amount in controversy and the needs and desires of the client.  Our boutique environment also means that we are able to provide action oriented service in an intimate environment.

Of Counsel

Jeff Cohen joins WKD with more than two decades experience as an established Probate and Trust Attorney.  Jeff started his career with a small firm handling probate matters, prior to opening his own private probate practice.  In time, Jeff joined a boutique family/probate/litigation firm in the probate department, handling many diverse matters, some involving complex family law related cross-over issues.  Subsequently, Jeff practiced in a top AM100 international law firm handing major cases and issues before he decided to join the dedicated probate litigation team at WKD.

Mr. Cohen takes a client-centered approach and considers himself a “Counselor at Law,” attempting first to understand the nature of disputes and potentially resolve matters. That said, Jeff also enjoys the advocacy and litigation process, including all elements and stages:  pleading, discovery, attempted dispute resolution, and ultimately trial.

He routinely represents financial institutions, professional fiduciaries, and individuals in probate matters, including without limitation, Trustees, Executors, Agents, Beneficiaries, Heirs, Creditors, and interested persons to a litany of probate issues, both prosecuting and defending all types of matters.

Additionally, he has successfully defended fiduciaries against claims of wrongdoing, compelled accountings, challenged testamentary documents, sought surcharges, protected beneficial interests, and litigated over contested appointments of personal representatives.

Mr. Cohen attended Southwestern University School of Law, Dec. 1999.  Tied “CALI Award” in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and received Southwestern’s “Exceptional Achievement Award.”

Mr. Cohen and his family enjoy indoor and outdoor activities, family fun time and good times, including dining, travel, cooking, cruising, camping, movies, amusement parks, as well as television production.
